The Crew

Tom Foord, John Methven and Lisa Methven joined Joel Corrigan’s Dachstein team which included large contingents from Cardiff University, Southampton University, BEC and the Combined Services caving team.

The team were out there for the first couple of weeks of the expedition. Tom and Lisa were the first ones to “refind C55” and then spend many happy days being torn to shreds by the beauty as they pushed and surveyed on through the rifts, mainly accompanying Mad Phil and Tim Lamberton. John’s main activity was surveying the “C” and “G areas and Hirlatzalm for new leads; exploring the ice cave, C29, and finding G22 “Howling Gale” which was to become the focus of the 2003 expedition.
